YouTube is a great place to learn how to do just about anything. If you’re an aspiring musician, you can find online tutorials to take your instrument-playing skills to the next level. If you’re a DIY enthusiast, there are plenty of videos that can help you build a deck or repair a leaky faucet.
Are you interested in improving your social media marketing skills? YouTube has countless channels devoted to digital marketing and online business development. But when it comes to choosing the best YouTube channels for learning as a creator and small business owner, it helps to know what makes one channel better than another.

How do you find the best YouTube Channels for learning how to build your online business?
Here are some tips for identifying the most useful YouTube channels for you.
1. Choose channels that teach specific skills.
The best YouTube channels for learning tend to focus on one area of expertise, such as digital marketing or graphic design. The more narrowly focused a channel, the more likely it is that it will be able to deliver high-quality content and exercise expertise in its subject matter. This kind of specialization also makes it easier for viewers to find exactly what they need when they need it.
2. Look for channels with high-quality production values and visuals.
While this isn’t always the case, channels with high-quality production values and visuals are usually more well-established. Plus, a highly produced video can make even basic information like how to set up an email account seem exciting and engaging. High production values also make it easier to pay attention and stay focused on the topic at hand. Of course, great content is only part of the equation. A good instructor can’t do much if he or she isn’t able to get points across. Many YouTube channels for learning have high-quality production values and dynamic onscreen personalities that make it fun and easy to learn from them. Some even have graphics or visual aids that help viewers to better understand difficult concepts.
3. Consider how often a channel adds new content.
If you’ve found an interesting YouTube channel, consider subscribing to its updates so you’ll be notified every time it releases a new video or episode. If this content creator releases new videos frequently and consistently, you’ll know you won’t have to wait too long for what you need — and if the videos themselves are helpful and well-designed, you can bet they’ll stay on topic and get right to the point.
4. Check out a channel’s comment section.
This can give you a sense of the community around the channel and how responsive it might be to questions or comments you make. It also provides insight into how others feel about the quality of the material the channel produces – including whether their tips work and whether they’re accurate.
5. Look for channels with professional certifications or accreditation.
If appropriate, look for channels that feature creators with appropriate certifications or accreditation. This isn’t ALWAYS necessary, but it never hurts to check.

These are some of my favorite YouTubers who share helpful, useful, and actionable information for online content creators and business owners. Anyone listed here has taught me something (or a LOT of things) that I didn’t know via their YouTube channels. While they are listed in categories based on what they do and which things they taught me, many of them cross over between these categories.

Whether you’re looking for advice on how to get started, how to grow your channel, what to do once you’re making money, and/or how to keep it going long term there’s something here for everyone. This is not a complete list of my favorites, but rather a “living document,” meaning I’ll keep adding to it as I remember or come across YouTubers who are helpful.
